Depending on the operating system you are using, you may be required to install the Clean Access Agent on your computer.  This agent ensures that your computer meets security requirements for accessing the network at FIU, and it helps keep your computer secure and up-to-date. 

The Clean Access Agent is an application which will check certain security settings on your computer to make sure that your computer is up-to-date with required security patches and antivirus software.  If you computer does not meet the requirements to access the FIU network, the Clean Access Agent will guide you through the steps you need to take to meet them. 

What are the requirements to access the FIU network?  You must:

• have all Windows critical updates and hot fixes installed.
• have turned on the Automatic Updates feature on your Windows computer.
• have Clean Access-supported antivirus software running on the computer.
• have the latest virus definitions for the antivirus software you are running.
