FIU Network Access > Other Devices

In order to access the FIU network, your computer and other networking devices will need to authenticate either with the Clean Access Agent or through a web browser.  Most browser-enabled devices will be able to log on to the FIU network using web-based authentication.  Some examples are hand-held PCs and WiFi-enabled cell phones.  On these devices, you must first launch a web browser and log on to the FIU network before trying to access any other network application.

However, some network devices may not give you the ability to launch a web browser, thus preventing you from authenticating to the network.  A few examples of such devices are some networked gaming consoles, DVR devices, and web cams; there are many others.  Support of these devices is limited and authentication will be provided through AIRS registration.  AIRS will allow you to register certain supported devices to use on the FIU network.  Use the Supported Devices link to see if your device is supported and to get instructions on how to obtain its MAC address.  Then, follow the instructions below to register your device on AIRS.
