Clean Access Wireless Network

Instructions for Getting Connected

Wireless Internet -- access is available across campus in all general-purpose classrooms and most common areas. Follow the instructions below for getting connected, or visit http://cleanaccess.fiu.edu for all the information you need.

For Windows Users:

  1. Ensure your wireless antenna is enabled

    • Some PCs have a switch to turn the wireless on or off. You might need to find this switch on the outside of your laptop.

    • On some PCs you must enable the wireless network adapter through the Control Panel. To do this, browse to the Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections. If disabled, right-click on your wireless connection and select "Enable".

  2. Connect to the open FIUAIR wireless network (SSID)

  3. Open your web browser and browse to any website

  4. You will be redirected to the Clean Access webpage. On the left-hand side, login with your FIU Webmail username and password

    • Your FIU user ID can be looked up at http://myaccounts.fiu.edu, using your PantherID

    • If you have not changed it, your password will be your date of birth, in MMDDYYYY format

  5. Once logged in, click on the link to download the Cisco Clean Access agent and save it to your Desktop.

  6. Once the agent is downloaded, double-click on the "CCA Agent Setup" file saved to your Desktop. The agent will be installed on your computer

  7. When the installation is complete, log in using your FIU user ID and password.

    • The agent will check your computer to ensure the latest Windows updates and a compatible antivirus program are both installed. If your computer does not meet the requirements, the agent will prompt you with further instructions. Limited access will be provided for those users who do not meet the agent requirements.

    • If your machine requires updates to either your Windows operating system or to your antivirus software, you have the option of doing this yourself, or contacting your technical support provider for assistance. It is very important that you ensure that this software remains updated in order for you to maintain your Internet access.
